Originally from southwest Missouri, Nathan started working professionally at the age of ten. He went on to attend Missouri State University, where he studied toward a BFA in Acting. He is a proud union member of both SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
Nathan continues to work across the country as an actor, writer, director, & designer. He also serves as a private coach, script doctor, & teaches acting, directing, & SFX Makeup Design. (including over a decade with Northwestern University’s prestigious NHSI “Cherubs” Film Institute)

ACTOR (stage/screen/voice): With an acting career spanning over 30 years, Nathan continues to work in theatre, film, & television – including the feature films, Above Ground (featured on Showtime), Aging Predators, Everything (featured on Tubi), Broken Faith, and MEAD (starring Robert Picardo, Patrick Warburton & Patton Oswalt). On the small screen, audiences have seen him in the internationally acclaimed web series, Shadow Bound, the ATAS Award-winning web series, EPILOGUE, numerous commercials/industrials, as well as hosting the 4th season of the EMMY Award-winning television program, Show-Me Chefs. DIRECTOR/PRODUCER: Over the past 25 years Nathan has produced numerous stage, screen, & audio productions, including the IAWTV-nominated web series, SHADOW BOUND & the internationally-acclaimed horror anthology audio-drama series, The Frightmare Theatre Podcast. He also served as producer on the award-winning feature film by J. Allen Williams, MEAD (starring Patton Oswalt & Robert Picardo). As a director, Nathan loves to experiment with the audience/performer relationship. His stage productions usually involve multi-media, innovative & immersive staging, and eye-popping special effects. Some of his favorite stage productions have been Dracula by Steven Dietz, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, Nick Dear’s Frankenstein, Bug, The Elephant Man, Misery, Evil Dead: The Musical, & Night of the Living Dead: Undead on Stage (adapted for the stage as a horror/comedy by Nathan from George A. Romero’s classic cult film)

SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKEUP: Nathan’s Special Effects Makeup work can be seen in films such as the multiple Academy Award-nominated, Winters Bone, Above Ground, MEAD, PMS Cop & The Sky Has Fallen. He’s the Founder/Executive Producer of ARCANE, a cabal of like-minded creatives who share a passion for all things dark, twisted, & mysterious. Nathan rarely works in SFX these days, but continues to create monstrous makeups & creepy creations for smaller film, theatrical, & personal projects.

SCREENWRITER / PLAYWRIGHT: Aside from Nathan’s other artistic work, he’s an award-winning writer. His short play, Tinker Toys, won the Critic’s Choice Award at the 2005 Samuel French Short Play Festival in NYC. Nathan’s internationally-acclaimed web series, Shadow Bound, garnered numerous nominations & awards, including “Best Cinematography” & “Best Original Score” in the LA WEBFEST, the “People’s Choice Award” in Melbourne, Australia, seven separate nominations (including Best Series) in Spain’s prestigious Bilbao Web Fest, as well as an Official Selection in the Roma Web Fest in Italy. His short film, YELLOW (directed by Ryan Piotrowski) won the 2020 Ozarks CW Saucer Prize Award in the SATO Film Festival. Currently, Nathan is developing new and exciting projects, slated for 2025 production.

CONSULTANT / EDUCATOR: Nathan continues to provide script doctoring/consulting services, as well as private coaching & teaching workshops in acting, directing, writing, & special effects makeup design throughout the country (including The Performing Arts Institute at Missouri State University, The Film XChange in Victoria TX, The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts in Springfield MO, & working for over a decade with Northwestern University’s prestigious Cherubs NHSI Film Institute). In 2025 he was honored to become an advisor with the newly formed, Chicago Film Squad: a student-led film cooperative that aims to form a community of young filmmakers in Chicago & beyond.
