ARCANE PRODUCTIONS

Film / TV / Web / Theatre / Audio / Interactive / Creative

Nathan Shelton founded the production company, ARCANE, with a few of his closest friends & creative collaborators.  Together, the members of ARCANE are a cabal of like-minded creatives who share a passion for all things dark, twisted, and mysterious. The artists of ARCANE create numerous stage, screen, live event, and audio productions as well as the design and fabrication of specialty makeup effects, masks, & props for industry and consumer applications.

Arcane’s foundational goal is to enhance the visceral connection between audience and the art.  Too often in this modern fast-paced world we experience art/media in a passive manner.  Arcane strives to break down the barrier between the passive viewing practice and enhance the visceral interactive abilities of the art being created.  It is our view that the audience is just as much a part of the artistic creation as the production team.

With Shadow Bound, Arcane’s first larger film production, the series was developed as a black and white, silent, horror piece.  This forced audiences to read the dialogue and become more immersed in the story as it went along.  With the silvery tones and black shadows of the web series, audiences had to actively pay attention to uncover the disturbing elements happening all around the hero of the story.

In Arcane’s live theatrical productions, we regularly utilize multimedia, special practical effects, innovative staging, audience participation, and immersive sound designs to enhance the audience experience.  It is Arcane’s goal to continue to draw new audiences to join us for live theatrical experiences that innovate, inspire and transform.
